We are a non-profit South Austin Youth Sport Club that has 11 years’ experience training, developing our children into young athletes with a championship mind set.  We are ALL volunteer moms, dads and former Badger players that help coach team, support team and organization operations.

What does CTX Badgers Youth Sport Organization participate in?

We train and develop our kids to compete in cheerleading, football, basketball and off-season training.  We play in Christian Federation Of Police Officers (CFPO) league located in San Marcus, TX which as been around more than 37 years.

Why CTX Badgers Youth Sport Organization?

Central Texas Badgers Organization was founded in 2013 to serve the South Austin community.  Over the years, this organization has built a positive reputation for teaching our children the important values of respect, discipline, hard work and being a servant leader.  Along with training our children the fundamentals of cheer, football and basketball.

What we are NOT:

A select team that only plays certain kids and does not let the inexperience kids play.

Talks trash to our kids, parents, opponents and referees.

Teach winning game is the only important objective, punish kids for losing.

Take home the championship trophy every season or threaten your child not to return the following season.

What we are about:

Teach our kids how to build their confidence as an athlete by:

  • Be ready to practice – When you enter the practice field gate, have all gear on, mind cleared and ready to focus on coaches’ commands and instructions.  “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t not work hard.”
  • Be Coachable –We teach our kids the importance of listening and learning, if you talk with your mouth and eyes are wandering around, you are not hearing with your ears.  If you can’t see and hear the coaches’ commands and/or instructions with your ears and eyes, your mind can’t process the words correctly and learn.  We teach the kids to answer to coaches loud with “Yes Sir/Mam” or “No Sir/Mam”.  Coaches will be loud and will be direct to help expedite the learning process, it is not a punishment “To be successful at any thing you do in life, you must be coachable, be humble and be willing to learn with a sense of urgency.”
  • Effort is everything – We must learn to give 100% effort in every movement, drill and exercise we do. It is the only way you can improve physically, mentally, and spiritually. We teach the importance of learning and developing a “Strong work ethic”, it’s a part of life. "Everybody is capable but are you willing."
  • Pick each other Up – If you are not making mistakes, you’re not learning and you’re not doing your job.  Making mistakes is part of learning, growing as a team and a part of life!  We teach our kids to pick each other up on and off the field with positive talk and telling them self “Let go to the next play.”
  • Practice like you play on game day – We teach our athletes to go full speed, hustle your positions, be ready for the next play.  If you go half speed at practice, you’re going to play half speed at the game against a team that is going full game speed. We teach our kids the importance of working hard, be physical and condition hard at practice so playing the games will be easier.  "Practice does not make perfect, it makes permanent."
  • Do your job – We teach our athletes with quality repetition to learn your position, learn their position techniques, learn the drills/plays by memory.  If you can remember the drills/plays or have questions, ask the coach, or team leader to explain.  We teach the importance of how we line up, first body movements and run the plays must be consistent and sharp.  All positions have an important role and function of the team and to be able to execute a drill/play successfully. "Do your job and your team will execute."
  • Know your craft – Train on position techniques, footwork, read body movement.  Player size does not matter if you properly execute the correct technique and play with 100% effort.  Understand the game strategies, why we call certain plays and audibles. “You must be consistent with your craft to be come a master at your craft”
  • Teamwork - Use your God given talents as an individual and play as one unit, one team.  We all have different positions and jobs to do to successfully execute drills/plays.  Communicate with your team on and off the field, learn each other’s strengths and talents and use it to their advantage at game day.  A unified team can overcome any challenge together.

“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

“The strength of the team is each individual member.  The strength of each member is the team.” - Phil Jackson

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” – Henry Ford

“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships. - Michael Jordan”

  • Most be a great student to be a great athlete – We request our kids to show their report cards to the coaches to review how they are performing at school.  We tell our kids our Badger exception is that all athletes grades are to above a “B” or greater grade in all classes.  We encourage parents to talk to the coach if their child needs additional behavior motivation to do the right things at home and/or school.  Our coaches will Not punish them, but can will talk to them about the importance of life skills and if necessary, limit play time at the games.
  • Give Thanks and Be Grateful – We teach our kids that playing sports and playing for the Badger Organization is a privilege.  Not all kids get the opportunity to experience this due to health or financial reasons.  Not all kids have the parents love and support they have been blessed with.  After every practice and games, we remind them of the great opportunity they have.  We also pray before and/or after each game to give thank, honor and glory to God.

We look forward to meeting you, family and your child this season and having an awesome season.

Thanks,

Randy Martinez
